1. Remove the lint filter and clean it. Before you put it back, make sure you remove all the lint. 2. Remove the exhaust hose from the unit. Check to see if it’s clogged after unplugging it, and if so, remove any loose lint. 3. Inspect the wall duct for obstructions and, if any are discovered, remove them. 4. Look for any blockages in the outside vent and remove them if there are any.

Inspect your thermostat for any signs of damage. If nothing appears to be amiss with it, try cleaning it out. You should also look at all of the wiring and each component of the thermostat. If the problem persists, the entire thermostat may need to be replaced.
