The Benefits Of Routine Cleaning

Start by wiping down the exterior removing any dirt or debris. Check and clean the filter as part of your regular maintenance. Finally, pour 8 ounces of distilled white vinegar into the lower basket and run a cleaning cycle to keep components properly lubricated.

Tackling A Deep Clean

Soak the nozzles and filters overnight in vinegar to dissolve mineral deposits and grime to perform deep cleaning.

Rinse them thoroughly before reinstalling them to remove traces of vinegar. For optimal results, run a normal wash cycle.

Cleaning The Filter

The filter is often neglected but is essential for efficient and long-lasting performance. Accumulated food and grease can lead to poor performance, bad smells and even safety hazards. 

Start by unplugging the dishwasher. Remove any obstructions from the shelves and drawers, unscrew the filter, pull it out, and carefully remove all debris and food residues from the filter and door using a brush if necessary.

Turn the door slightly clockwise until the hinges engage and lock into place. Once you have properly inserted the cleaning filter, close the dishwasher to enjoy optimized wash cycles.

Cleaning the Nozzles

The nozzles should be cleaned regularly to ensure smooth rotation and unobstructed spraying. Clogged holes reduce cleaning efficiency and leave dishes dirty.

2. Unfasten the nozzle cap by turning it counterclockwise and remove the upper nozzle. Some nozzles lack caps and can just be pulled off.
3. Use a small brush to clean the nozzle thoroughly. Allow it to soak overnight in distilled white vinegar, then rinse it. Make sure that water can easily pass through all openings.
4. Replace the nozzle and secure the cap by turning it clockwise if necessary. Rotate the nozzle to ensure that it is secure.

Cleaning the Drain Pump

On some models, the drain pump is accessible after removing the drain filter. Debris in the pump can cause noise or poor draining. Clean it according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
